Moda Health | 2019 - 2021
Moda Health was a Portland-based health insurance carrier that provided coverage to Summit Health of Eastern Oregon, Delta Dental of Oregon and Alaska, and their own shopping sites. As a member of their team, my focus was on improving the customer journey through progressive enhancements to their eCommerce sites. This was a challenging task, as the healthcare industry is highly regulated and can be confusing for many people. My goal was to bring clarity to the purchasing process and ensure that consumers fully understood exactly what they were getting. I was concerned that Moda might not convey this information properly, which could leave consumers without coverage when they needed it most. To address this, we used analytics data and user testing to identify areas for improvement and verify our findings to ensure that people understood what was and wasn't included in their plan. This process was ongoing and presented many challenges, but I felt proud to have contributed to improving consumer awareness and helping people make more informed choices about their coverage. By working at Moda, I was able to change the funnel, interject educational material in plain language with better flows to intercept with critical details up-front, so they could choose a plan that would give them the best coverage.
